WELCOME TO One Step Beyond Counseling Services
Where counseling services are combined with Telehealth for busy families and their loved ones
Family and Individual Counseling
We all need someone, sometime and for some reason. If you are or someone in your family is struggling and needs support then you've come to the right place. Anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life changes and we have experiences that knock us down. Sometimes we can handle it on our own and sometimes we need the help of a professional. This is where we come in.
Working with December Breidel
My passion for working with individuals, couples and families comes from my experience over 10 years as an advocate, volunteer, teacher, mentor and counselor in diverse medical settings, local schools, and yoga studios. I am drawn to this work because I have witnessed the impact that sharing your life story has on overall wellbeing in the healing process. I combine mindfulness, sensorimotor psychotherapies, attachment and developmental psychology.
Telehealth for Mental Health
Everything has changed in our worlds over the past year with COVID forcing families just like yours take on more responsibility resulting in less free time. At One Step Beyond Counseling Services understand this first hand we also had to jump on board to save your family the travel time of coming into an office. We provide counseling services via Telehealth in the comfort of your own home so that you can have easier access to the help and support you and/or your family need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Testimonials
“We were fortunate to have December come to my home and teach yoga to my twin daughters and some of their friends. The way she incorporated mindfulness, meditation and relaxation strategies was particularly helpful, especially to cope with stress and anxiety. December’s ability to connect with kids/teenagers and keep them engaged is truly special. She was always upbeat and professional.”
Patricia Pierce, Parent
"Boulder Medical Center was fortunate to have December on our team. She has been extremely reliable in showing up for her patients and our team, has consistently built therapeutic rapport, and has maintained good therapeutic boundaries. Her natural curiosity has helped clients to explore more deeply issues that have brought them to counseling. Her warm personality and gentle sense of humor put clients at ease."
Maurene Flory, PhD LPC, Boulder Medical Center
"As Director of the Association of Volunteers of Children's Hospital Colorado, I have had the good fortune to work with literally thousands of volunteers over the past thirty years. During my tenure, I do not recall working with a volunteer with the finest talents and skill set such as Ms. Breidel. While Ms. Breidel has been instrumental in planning and supervising play activities for patients in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, she has also assisted with therapy groups in Broomfield and Highlands Ranch. These groups consisted of yoga for depression and anxiety, speech therapy for children who are hearing impaired or have learning disabilities and parental support groups for children who have childhood illnesses."
Kathleen McBride, Children's Hospital Colorado
"December demonstrated many strengths over the course of her work with us. She had a natural, respectful, and comfortable style with children and their caregivers and they adored her. She assisted with the needs of the group in a very intuitive and flexible way and she needed very little guidance. She carried herself in a professional manner and she was organized, proactive and responsible throughout her work with us."
